The island is still trying to hold out against the invasion of the motor car, encouraging the use of traditional horse drawn carriages.  The best way to get around and see the town is to hire one of the traditional horse carriages found by the waterfront.  Coachmen can take anyone to most parts of the island of Spetses, from early morning until late at night during the summer season.There are two starting points for visitors. The first is the port of Dapia , the coach going to the Old Port and Agia Marina, and the second is on the other side of the harbor, at the square of Poseidonio hotel,  for those who want to go towards the Schools. Horse-drawn carriage is the perfect way to discover the island and preserves a romantic memory of the nice old days.
